Grandmother’s Needlepoint for Barbara

Barbara came to us with a needlepoint in a tiny, beat up frame which was, unfortunately, improperly framed.  The art was stretched over cardboard and pressed directly against the glass.  When we opened the frame, I was amazed by the stretching technique:

We re-stretched the artwork and matted it to prevent contact with the glass.  We then found it a home in a new frame that better enhanced the artwork.

I wanted to re-frame my Grandmother’s needlepoint to present to my cousin as a memento.  I found Applegate Gallery on Angie’s List.  After going to three frame shops where I received little help in selecting and attractive mat and frame combination, I found a lot of good advice here!
